News4JAX (WJXT/WCWJ) is proud to partner with The Porter Firm to present the third annual Jacksonville Image Awards.
To create a more intimate setting, the awards show has moved from the Lazzara Performance Hall to the Andrew A. Robinson, Jr. Theater. The pre-show cocktail hour and the post-show gathering will remain in the lobby of the Lazzara Performance Hall.
Any tickets purchase before this change will still be honored. All seating in the Andrew A. Robinson, Jr. Theater will be first come, first served. The only designated seating will be for the 21 finalists and our sponsors. Those seats will be marked. All other attendees are encourage to sit anywhere they wish in the lower level. The two "balcony" section will be open but are for ADA seating only.
News4JAX (WJXT/WCWJ) is committed to informing and celebrating the communities we serve. The Jacksonville Image Awards were created to honor and celebrate achievements of individuals and organizations in the African American community to inspire, educate, and enlighten everyone we reach that success is achievable and should be celebrated.
The Jacksonville Image Awards honor those who have achieved success in a chosen profession or career, and whose efforts have made a significant positive impact in the community. Honorees are noted for the consistency and longevity of their work, including their individual achievements and efforts to inspire and support the success of others.
The Jacksonville Image Awards features seven categories:
- Trailblazer Award
- Be the Change, Be Yourself Award
- The One to Watch Award presented by Johnson & Johnson Vision
- Music Excellence Award
- Innovator Award presented by VyStar Credit Union
- Education Excellence Award
- Pinnacle Award presented by The Porter Firm
Three finalists in each category were selected by a panel from News4JAX (WJXT/WCWJ) and a winner will be voted on by the public.
The Jacksonville Image Awards will be hosted by WJXT-Channel 4 News anchors Melanie Lawson and Tarik Minor and will also feature live musical performances orchestrated by local musician and music director Meachum Clarke.
